The aniseed hits strong and sweet, just like real licorice candy, and those sunflower petals give it a pretty golden cup. I steeped it for five minutes and the rooibos kept it smooth without turning bitter.

The aniseed really comes through without being overpowering, and the rooibos base keeps it smooth instead of sharp. I've been drinking it every evening after dinner, and it scratches the black licorice craving better than a candy ever did.

The rooibos base keeps this from tasting like straight black jellybeans, which I appreciate. Steeps a bit weak if you only give it two minutes though, so I let it sit closer to four.
