The whole peppercorns and cardamom pods are visible right in the tin, which told me this wasn't going to be a weak, dusty chai. Steeped it with milk and the fennel comes through gently behind the pepper heat. Two cups in and I've already ordered more.

I was worried CTC black tea would taste harsh, but the fennel and cardamom round it out into something almost sweet. Simmered it with milk and a little sugar and it came out tasting like the chai from a proper Indian restaurant.
